Thank you, Phil, for your unwavering commitment and outstanding contributions over the past five decades. What an amazing milestone!

Mrs. Eisenhuth's 6th grade science students took an activism approach to their climate change unit and held town/playground clean-ups, movie fundraisers, electronics recycling and book donations, small item swap, a trash to art competition, and a bake sale! $248.25 was raised for a solar panel to power a score board or light for the new turf field! They learned how they can help our planet and had fun in the process!

MIW third graders at the Portland Sea Dogs Education Day! One student got selected to say, "Play Ball" (pictured on left), and another got selected to throw out the first pitch (pictured on right)!

This week, a group of library volunteers from all grades (4-8) took a walking field trip to the Food Pantry at the town hall. They delivered 49 books which has been purchased with donatins from the recent book fair (worth over $375)! In December, families who visit the Food Pantry will be able to choose from the selection of titles for holiday gifts.

The third grade chorus concert last week was fantastic! Shout out to Aaron Gagnon for leading this and thank you to everyone for coming to support our singers!

Congrats to all GMS students.  The hard work paid off this year with a high percentage of students demonstrating strong growth through their iReady scores. Also, high praise for 7th grade for their best-of-school attendance last week!  The best prep for next year is to continue showing up, working hard, and making each day count.

Master drummer Sayon Camara,  from the village of Kouya Sidia in Guinea, West Africa, visited with MIW students last week.

How about the 8th Grade Math Team and their 2nd place finish at the So. Maine Math League meet? Lincoln Welles also earned a 2nd place, individually.

Congratulations to Derek Soule! On Thursday, May 8 the GHS baseball team won their game making it Derek's 350th win as a coach!
