With major league baseball playoffs this month, Mr. Caswell’s class has been participating in “Diamond Games.” Cooperation is the focus through baseball, softball, and kickball games.

7th-grade students recently completed a project which involved researching a food item that is culturally important in Judaism. Students were asked to create a one-minute slideshow presentation and either make or purchase their food item to share with the other seventh grade team. Osprey and Katahdin students worked really hard to learn about the history of their chosen foods and many challenging recipes were shared.  Presentations were impressive!

It's egg-citing times in 6th grade science! It's the EGG DROP!

Before construction, students gave 3 solid reasons why their device would work. Then, during construction, they made multiple observations using fake eggs and adjusted their devices accordingly. The 6-foot drop happened today (Friday) in the classroom. You could feel the excitement and smell the results from miles away. All survivors will participate in the much anticipated Lobby Drop on Monday! Ask a 6th grader about their device and today's results!

8th graders launched into their astronomy unit this week by building and launching paper rockets. After investigating the forces that act on rockets, they modified their designs and built a second rocket which were launched on Thursday.

Skyscraper Challenge: 8th grade students in Mr. Ross's math class began the year collaborating on a variety of challenging math puzzles including the skyscraper puzzle.  Ask an 8th grader to explain the requirements for a perfect skyscraper…

GMS had a great first week back to school!

Spanish students in Mrs. BW’s warm up on Fridays by dancing to Spanish-language music. Recently they chose “Mambo 23” from the Dominican Republic, one of their favorite songs from our Manía Musical de Mayo song bracket!
