GMS 6-8 Principal Spotlight 1.23.26

Spotlight

Hello GMS Families,

Taking a break from watching the weather?
Glad you did!  If Monday’s a remote day, info here.

Before checking out the great photos below, did you know?

The 7th grade rallied on Friday with 97% of students in attendance.

Awesome!  But, most of the week we noticed numerous students absent with sickness.

Please see Nurse Lora’s update and excellent reminders.
Remember that a 100.4 fever or higher means “stay home”.

If your child doesn’t feel well and reaches out from school:

  • Encourage them to check in with the school nurse.
  • Know that the school nurse will reach out if pick-up is needed.    Thanks!

I’m sharing this article with adults who might appreciate a resource for talking with their child about recent current events.  Mr. Lariviere, the GMS staff, and I all want you to know that our top priority is providing an excellent education in a safe and welcoming environment.  We care about every student’s well-being!  MSAD 51 administrators and front office staff will follow clearly outlined protocols and policies regarding any unexpected visitor to our school.  We will continue to keep familiar classroom routines and offer engaging learning opportunities each day.  As always, students who are experiencing stress due to friends, school, or issues in society, are always welcome to take a break, request a chance to talk individually with a counselor, social worker, or other trusted adult, or make a phone call home.
