Principal Spotlight - March 14, 2025

Thrilling games, plus an impressive crowd of enthusiastic students and adults made for some unforgettable moments last week.  Similarly, hundreds of supportive adults attended the MSAD 51 3-12 Chorus Concert for both exciting and moving performances.  Congrats to the music staff and students - the hard work paid off!

As students begin trimester 3 this week, the teams will take part of the day on Friday to celebrate student accomplishments from trimester 2.  There will be celebrations and activities.  I noticed one team recommended wearing sneakers rather than crocs or sandals.  Checking with your middle schooler, and offering a reminder on Friday might be good.  :-)

THIS WEEK!  Make plans for the 3/19 & 3/26 GMS Student Involved Conferences.  More “how to” info here.  Or go straight to the  Greely Family Conference Landing Page

8th graders in literacy intervention designed board games to review the concepts they had learned this trimester. 7th graders came to test them out and learned a lot about prefixes and suffixes in the process!

 Start the Conversation

It’s a great week to share with your 7th grader an all-time favorite science fiction book.  Then, tell them all you remember about balancing chemical equations.  If you draw a blank, wait until late in the week, and ask your middle schooler for some help.

Shhh.  At the “Coffee & Conversation” with parents, there was a brainstorm of ways to support teachers at GMS.  One idea can be discovered here, and you’re welcome to be part of the fun.  Just don’t tell the GMS staff.

Have a wonderful week as we start trimester 3!
