Reminders: 1. Please remember that walkers, bikers and students waiting for after-school pick up must wait until ALL buses leave the bus circle. Let’s be safe! 2. Office phone. Students put away cell phones upon arrival, and have access again at 2:20. Please avoid texting students during the school day. The office phone is always available. Thanks!
There will be another GMS 6-8 movie night fundraiser, Thursday Feb. 27th from 6pm to 8pm! Note this is THURSDAY NIGHT. Five dollars ($5) at the door. There will be a bake sale and concessions too! Mark your calendars, and pack your folding chairs.
70 students had perfect attendance for the first half of the year. Keep encouraging your middle schooler to strive for great attendance these next few months!
GMS Students in Action
6th grade science is busy. Each class has a Fantasy Snowfall Champion. To win, students need to watch the weather and "play" the mountains with the most snowfall. They're also busy preparing Water Cycle Songs for the Grammys. Ask 6th graders to share their songs... be warned, they're catchy.
Below: Mrs. Harrington's 5th grade class joined Mr. Emery’s 7th grade science, conducting exothermic experiments. Ask a student to explain it to you.
8th graders in Social Studies have finished their units studying the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. That prompted a big binder and backpack clean out. Fresh start after break!
8th graders in Mrs. Martin’s class played mathematical snap to practice their numeracy skills. Ask an 8th grader how to play!
A warmer week ahead!
The best way to start good habits with attendance for the rest of the school year is to attend this week! Hope to see you Monday,
Dr. Monte Selby, GMS 6-8 principal
