And the winner is????
Even though the 6th grade had an amazing day on Wednesday with 98.245% of their class at school…the week ended with this attendance data: 6th = 94.619% 7th = 94.619% 8th = 94.915%
So, the 8th grade is crowned champion of weekly attendance by less than half of a percentage point!!! Thanks to all of the students for working hard to be at school and in class. It makes a difference!
Friday morning, over 20 parents came together for “coffee & conversation”. I enjoyed the questions, the interaction, and the great ideas/resources regarding student motivation. Plus, parents shared new topic ideas for the future. I’m looking forward to next time: Friday, 2/7/2025 in the GMS cafeteria.
𝄞 Friends of Greely Music and the MSAD 51 Music Department are pleased to present this year's GREELY'S GOT TALENT! Open to Dancers, Singers, performers of Magic or Comedy, Musicians, Bands, Jugglers, or any other Unique Talent! Where? April 11th in the GCA - GGT 2025 Call for Acts Flyer for full details.
In the Cafeteria
Thanks to GMS students for listening and following directions during our first full week of composting in the cafeteria.. Take the online game challenge to see if you know more than your middle schooler. Want to come during lunch for a few days to help direct students as they learn the composting routine? Let Monte ([email protected]) know if you're interested.
Just ask
Ask a GMS middle schooler how many items in the house they can name in Spanish or French. How do you keep score in pickleball? What’s the current most popular lunch item? How many steps are there in the lobby staircase? Will Dr. Selby really give away a custom guitar pick if you can name an iconic 80’s band? Only one way to find out….
Enjoy the weekend,
Dr. Monte Selby, GMS 6-8 principal
