The Chickadee Award program is for students in kindergarten through fourth grade throughout the state of Maine. The goal is for children to develop an appreciation of outstanding writing and illustration in current children’s picture books & hope students will become discriminating readers by voting for their favorite book.
The Maine Student Book Award is designed to expand literary horizons of students in grades 4-8 by encouraging them to read, evaluate, and enjoy a selection of new books and to choose a statewide favorite by ballot each spring.

The North Star YA Award is designed to encourage young adults (grades 7-12) to read for fun. The goal is to help teens feel empowered by selecting a statewide favorite to share with the world. Here's an annotated list of the titles.
